Brahm's Lullaby, a.k.a. Cradle Song, is just possibly the most soothing song ever written. Our arrangement contains exactly one word, if you can find it! Download Brahm's Lullaby (Cradle Song) now or the entire album. Moms, grandmas, grandpas, siblings, or anyone else can sing along almost like a solo as this most well known lullaby from Brahms features very quiet humming and only a single gentle word. On a personal note, our eldest daughter, now 30, had her own unique version of the lyric when she was barely talking that began "Rock-a-guy, and na-night...."

about

Brahm's Lullaby (The Cradle Song), has many lyrical versions; we opted for a softly humming mother’s voice. This is perhaps the most famous lullaby in the world. Written in 1848, Brahm's Lullaby was adapted from his "Good Evening, Good Night." As with so many lullabies, there have been many variations on the lyrics, and Brahm's Lullaby has been translated into many languages and used almost universally as a song to soothe young children, infants, and the rest of us, who probably need to feel its calming effect more than the young children.

As you might expect, this most well-known lullaby has been covered by a great variety of recording artists, including Jewel, Celine Dion, Kenny G, Linda Rondstadt, and Veggie Tales.

lyrics

Brahm's Lullaby Lyrics:

Lullaby, and good night
With pink roses bedight
With lilies o'erspread
Is my baby's sweet head
Lay you down now and rest
May your slumber be blessed
Lay you down now and rest
May thy slumber be blessed

Lullaby, and good night
You're your mother's delight
Shining angels beside
My darling abide
Soft and warm is your bed
Close your eyes, rest your head
Soft and warm is your bed
Close your eyes, rest your head
