All The Pretty Little Horses is a traditional African American lullaby from the southern United States, and is almost modal in its structure, haunting in the comforting turns of it's melody. You can almost hear a rocking chair in the background as Amy Rouse sings "when you wake, you shall have, all the pretty little horses" if you listen closely.

All The Pretty Little Horses lyrics
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry
Go to sleepy little baby
When you wake, you shall have
All the pretty little horses
Blacks and bays, dapples and greys
Go to sleepy you little baby
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry
Go to sleepy little baby
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry
Go to sleepy little baby
When you wake, you shall have
All the pretty little horses
